学生研究テーマの候補 (English version follows)

進学相談会や入試説明会，またそれ以外のタイミングでも連絡いただければ研究テーマの詳細について説明します．学生の自由な発想による下記以外の研究テーマも可能です．

1) ルミネッセンス年代測定による地質・地形学的研究

・日本の浜堤平野群についての仮説の検証
・隆起海成段丘の高精度な編年による古地震サイクルの解明
・房総半島および大磯丘陵の下総層群の光ルミネッセンス年代測定
・津波堆積物の光ルミネッセンス年代測定
・河川堆積物の光ルミネッセンス年代測定
・古鬼怒湾の発達史

2) 海岸地形形成・堆積プロセス

・波浪卓越型海岸（海浜〜三角州）形状のモデリング
・砕波帯でのベッドフォームの分布と形成プロセス
・余剰光ルミネセンス信号による海浜〜浅海底の堆積物粒子のトレース
・浅海底での波浪移動限界水深の評価

3) その他

・砂浜の生痕化石の分布と堆積環境との関係
・石英砂の光ルミネッセンス特性にみられる地理的多様性
・外国のフィールドを対象にした研究（オーストラリア，ベトナム，ヨルダン，南極など）
 
 

Potential projects for future students

Prospective students will be informed of the details on potential projects listed below at official orientation for entrance examination or if they contact Dr Tamura. Students are also welcome to propose their own projects for their master and doctoral thesis.

1) Application of luminescence dating to geoscience problems

- Revisiting the hypothesis on beach-ridge sets in Japanese strand plains
- High-resolution chronology of raised marine terraces for refining inter-plate seismic cycles
- Luminescence dating of the Middle to Late Pleistocene coastal deposits in Kanto region
- Refining luminescence dating of tsunami deposits
- Refining luminescence dating of fluvial sediments
- Reconstruction of the paleo Kinu Bay evolution

2) Coastal geomorphology and sedimentology

- Modelling study of geomorphology of wave-dominated deltas and shorefaces
- Distribution and processes of bedforms in surf zone
- Tracing sediments in beach and shallow marine with residual luminescence signals
- Refining assessments of Depth of Closure (DoC)

3) Other

- Relationships between benthic animals, their traces (trace fossils), and sedimentary environments in beach
- Geographic variations of quartz sand luminescence properties
- Oversea field research (Australia, Vietnam, Jordan, and Antarctica etc.)
