Recent developments in hardware and software technology continue to make possible a variety of new human support systems. In this technological climate, there is an increasing need to begin applying information processing to the area of )Bgservicesh. In order to research smart living spaces that really support people in everyday life, there is a need to first gain an understanding of what needs to be gservicedh. In creating service computation theory, that is, applying computation to services, we must first understand the services that are in demand, and develop a way of expressing that understanding. One of our big aims in conducting this research is the establishment of a service computation theory to act as an information processing system for supporting everyday life. As the first step toward that goal, in order to ascertain what kind of services people need, we conducted a survey of needs in everyday life, and considered ways of expressing those needs.
)BEEstablishing a method of expressing the structure of needs,
)BEEstablishing service computation theory,
)BEConstructing a new programming environment based on service computation theory.
