2018年04月02日 日本化学会のBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan誌の特集「the 90th Commemorative Account: Self-Organization」として、総説論文“Self-Assembly of Discrete Organic Nanotubes”が掲載されました(オープンアクセス)。


2018年04月01日 国立研究開発法人産業技術総合研究所の中鉢良治理事長より、産業技術総合研究所名誉リサーチャーの称号が授与されました。






Dr Toshimi Shimizu was born in Osaka, Japan, in 1952. After having acted as an AIST Fellow of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) for five years from 2013, he is currently an Emeritus Researcher of AIST. He received his BS (1975), MS (1977), and PhD (1983) in Polymer Chemistry from Kyoto University, Japan. He joined the Research Institute of Polymers and Textiles (RIPT), Agency of Industrial Science and Technology (ex-AIST), Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Japan in 1977. After his postdoctoral research at Free University Berlin with Professor J.-H. Fuhrhop, he joined the National Institute of Materials and Chemical Research (NIMC), ex-AIST, MITI in 1993 and had been the director of Nanoarchitectonics Research Center (NARC), AIST (2000-2007). He also directed a Core Research for Evolutional Science and Technology (CREST) project (2001-2005) entitled “Functional High-Axial-Ratio Nanostructure Assembly for Nano-Space Engineering” and the succeeding Solution Oriented Research for Science and Technology (SORST) project (2005-2009) entitled “Supramolecular Nanotube Architectonics and the Nano-Bio Applications” funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). He had been Professor of Chemistry, University of Tsukuba, Japan as well (1997-2012). His research has been focusing on functional high-axial-ratio nanostructure assemblies for nano-space engineering. He was the recipient of The Award of the Society of Polymer Science (SPSJ) (2001), Japan, The Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) Award for Creative Work (2006), and SPSJ Mitsubishi Chemical Award (2013).
