Research Activity

Human Error Prevention

I am a researcher of cognitive science and safety engineering. I have written several Japanese books about prevention of human error for general readers in Japan. Also, I am studying on relationship between cognition and human body movements.

Information Security around Human Factors

  1. slide share Human Factors on Information Security
  2. slide share Twenty tips to protect information from human error incidents

Careless and wrong behavior of insiders is tremendously terrible compared to cyber attacks by outsiders. I am researching on protection of cyber security from human behavior.

Information Security for All: Barrier-Free Security Technology for People with Disabilities

Control of own information is one of important parts of basic human rights. Information technology, however, may become hinderance for people with disabilities. (For example, CAPTCHA test requires ability of visual perception.) We, the IT researchers, must study to make technology more universal and helpful, not discriminative.

Research Ideas so far: Varbal Turing Test (as a substitute of CAPTCHA).
