Profile

Naoyuki Ichimura is a senior researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan. He received his B.E. degree in communication engineering in 1989 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering in 1991 and 1996, all from the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo. He has been in the Department of Computer Science at Columbia University for 2 years from 2002 as a visiting scholar. His current research interests are machine learning, computer vision, GPU computing and computer graphics. He is a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) and the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ).
