{"id":77,"date":"2022-11-18T09:05:44","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T09:05:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/?page_id=77"},"modified":"2024-04-01T11:46:28","modified_gmt":"2024-04-01T02:46:28","slug":"diversity","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/en\/diversity\/","title":{"rendered":"Manifest on diversity in science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/reports\/global-gender-gap-report-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Global Gender Gap Report 2023<\/a> (World Economic Forum) ranked Japan \u00a0as the 125th of 146 nations, which is the worst since the Report started in 2006. \u00a0This tendency unfortunately appears similar in higher education and science &amp; technology fields.<\/p>\n<p>This often appears visual when we are invited to speak in academic conferences, in official meetings held by the government or other public organizations.<\/p>\n<p>As a small resistance, I would ask the following to be satisfied when you invite me to speak or attend a meeting:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>To invite me to\n<ul>\n<li>Invited speech, symposium, panel or<\/li>\n<li>Board, committee or any type of meetings including governmental ones,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>When there are others with same or higher role\/capacity than me invited, they include\n<ul>\n<li>At least one female,<\/li>\n<li>At least one younger (40s or less) person whenever possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>When these are not satisfied, let me hear why it\u2019s difficult.
