"Acquisition of Structural Morphological Procedure by Introducing Era into Genetic Algorithm"

Abstract:

This paper presents a method to obtain an image processing procedure by showing an original image and a goal image. We intend to construct mathematical morphology procedure (erosion and dilation operations) automatically. There are some preceding works concerns with automatic acquisition of image processing procedures by combining morphological procedures.

In our approach, we use genetic algorithms to search procedures. Utilizing a parallel searching function of GA and introducing a concept of {\em era}, we construct hierarchical procedures of mathematical morphology.
