"A Proposal for Display of Spatial Distributed Moving Vectors by Color Solid"
Abstract:
We propose a new visualization method for the display of spatial distributed
moving vectors.
Some types of scientific data (for example, magnetocardiogram and magnetoencephalogram)
have the five dimensional variables at each sampling point, which are composed
of the 2D coordinate and 3D vectors.
Therefore it is difficult to display all the components of the vectors at the
same time.
In the method that we propose herein, the Munsell color system is used to
represent the vectors.
In the Munsell system, colors are arranged on the 3D space, and it consists
of the hue, the value and the chroma.
So we attempt to display all the components at the same time by using its properties.
This method seems to improves existing magnetocardiograms and has the advantage of
displaying moving images.
