One of the characteristics of soft matter systems attractive to physicists is that those systems possess various types of "structures" in diverse time and length scales. Examples of those structures include chain-like or rod-like architectures in macromolecules or liquid crystal molecules (of the order of 1-10nm), various ordered phases of molecular aggregates in block copolymers, liquid crystals and amphiphiles (of the order of 10-100nm), and the ordered arrays of suspended particles in colloidal systems (of the order of microns).
The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with the opportunity to get in touch with the latest trends and exchange knowledge and information about soft matter physics with focus on those fascinating structures observed in various soft matter systems.
