Grand Canyon (1), Arizona, USA

This sand was picked up beside a branch of the Colorado River at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.  It is poorly sorted sand/gravel (5.5mm or less in diameter).  It is composed of sandstone, siliceous rocks, gneiss, quartz and so on.  The grains are sub-angular.
