Wadi Rum, Jordan

Wadi Rum that is famous for the movie "Lawrence of Arabia" means "the Valley of the Moon".   The fragments of weathered red rock made this medium/coarse-sized sand.  0.2-1.0mm in diameter grains of quartz are stained with iron oxide.  The grains are rounded fragments of quartz, and a little of pieces of calcareous rocks.
