Goishi Beach, Ohfunato-city, Iwate, Japan

This stony beach has black shale rocks of the Msozoic era or the Paleozoic.  This sand is a compound made up of rocks about 4mm in diameter and grains about 0.5mm in diameter.  The gravel consists of sandstone or shale, and are well rounded.  There are many fragments of seashells, too.
