Kurihama Beach (Perry Park) (No.2), Yokosuka-city, Kanagawa, Japan
This is the place where Matthew Perry landed in 1854, who was the Commodore of the U.S. Navy and forced the opening of Japan to the West. This grayish brown sand was picked up in front of the monument of Perry, and it is poorly sorted. Medium-sized grains 0.5mm more or less in diameter and large grains (gravel) are mixed. The large grains are dark gray shale, brown siliceous rocks, quartz and seashells. They are rounded well.
