Kanemo Beach (Yoron Island), Yoron, Ohshima, Kagoshima, Japan

This white sand was picked up from the southernmost island of five Amami Islands.  It consists of fragments of coral, seashells, the remains of foraminifers and so on.  There is no grains of any rocks.  The grains are 2.5mm or less in diameter with a little amounts of the large grains (1.5mm or more in diameter).
