Nouakchott (No.1), Trarza, Mauritania

This sand was picked up at the desert between the capital Nouakchott and the Atlantic Ocean.  White porous grains (0.3-1.2mm in diameter) and fine/medium-sized siliceous grains (0.8mm or less in diameter) are mixed together, and the proportion of them is one to two.  The sand looks gray and moderately sorted.  There are small amounts of seashells (1mm or less in diameter).
