SOCIAL PROGRAM

1. Welcoming Reception <Hamac de Paradis>
A welcoming party will be held in the evening on Wednesday, Second September 2009 in the restaurant, Hamac de Paradis at Kanbaikan 1F. Participants of the Forum are all invited. However, the persons who hope to take part in the reception are requested to apply through the website of Registraion(https://entry.jtb.ne.jp/me/registrye/registrye.asp?id=1292 ).

2. Banquet
<Lhotel de Hiei>
  A banquet will be held from 18:20 – 20:30 on Thursday, 3rd September 2009 in the hotel, Lhotel de Hiei , which is located 600 meters above sea level on Mt. Hiei. The fee is included in the regular registration, but it is not included in the student registration.
  Hotel buses will take the participants to the banquet place. The buses will start at 17:30 from the Kanbaikan and will arrive at the hotel about 18:10. After the banquet the buses also take the participants from the banquet place to their hotels or stations. You will be impressed by the nice evening view of Lake Biwa and the city of Kyoto from Lhotel de Hiei.

3. Social Tour <Kyoto Imperial Palace>
A social tour to Kyoto Imperial Palace will be held on Fridayday, 4th September 2009. All the participants can take part in the tour free of charge.

Participants who hope to take part in the tour are requested to
give their
1) full name
2) registration number
3) sex (male or female)
4) age
5) home address
6) country
7) e-mail adress

to the forum secretariat by E-mail (y.tamaru@aist.go.jp)
till July 31, 2009.

This is because it is necessary to give this information to the Imperial House hold Agency to get permission to enter the palace. As number of participant is limited, an earliest application is recommended. The social tour will be held in two groups: 1) Japanese and 2) non-Japanese. The tours for Japanese and non-Japanese will start separately at the entrance of the Hotel Kyoto Garden Palace at 13:30 and 14:00, respectively. The tour takes approximately one hour. Please note that the palace is not open on Saturday and Sunday during this season.
