Institute of Human Science and Biomedical Engineering [Director, SAIDA shinya] and Research Institute of Human Engineering for Quality Life [Chairman, NOMURA Akio] (It is called "HQL" below.) With Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. [President and Chief Operating Officer, ISHIKAWA Norikatsu], MAZDA Motor Corporation[President and Chief Operating Officer, IMAKI Hisakazu], Nissan Motor CO., Ltd.[The president and chief executive officer, Carlos Ghosn], Yokogawa Electric Corporation[President and Chief Executive Officer, UCHIDA Isao] and others, measured operation action of many common drivers on the street, and developed the automobile operation action database jointly. Moreover, when different operation action from usually was carried out by grasping operation action objective using this database, the prototype of the operation support system of the model which puts that danger increases on the car which tells a driver was developed. This research result is a part of last result of the consignment enterprise Industrial technical base research and development project "human action conformity type living environment creation system technology" undertaken in the plan from Heisei 11 for five years of New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization[Chairman of the board of directors, MAKINO Tsutomu](It is called "NEDO" below.).
■ The background and circumstances of research ■
〔Automobile operation action database〕
The data which measured many operation actions of a common driver on the street objective did not exist in the former. The needs of wanting to know the figure of operation of a true driver were increasing for the spot which develops operation support technology especially in ITS (intelligent transport system) to have examined what support should be realized, and choose what suited the driver in the parameter of equipment. However, since variation's being in an individual's action and individual difference were also large, the true figure was not able to be known by a small number of data. Therefore, it is not only data from a lot of people, but record and accumulation of operation action of the repetition by the same driver have been desired.

■ The contents of research ■
On the occasion of construction of an automobile operation action database, record and the operation action data over about 30,000km or more a total are contained using the vehicles for action measurement with which operation action of about 100 drivers was attached in various kinds of sensors from the level of 20 years old to 70 years old. As data, the speed and acceleration of operation action whether to have carried out an accelerator and brake operation at which point of a road, and the vehicles at that time, a surrounding situation, the surrounding weather, etc. are accumulated. By searching this database by using a run road, operation tasks (acceleration, right-turn, slowdown stop, etc.), etc. as a key, it can analyze what operation was performed in what situation by what road. Which can know whether action varies also by the individual difference and the same person of operation by this by the data with which the driver with one [ same ] of the features of this database ran the same route repeatedly being contained.
